These terms govern your use of Bitewise as a nutrition-practice management tool. By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of yourself and, if you set up a practice, on behalf of that practice.
Before launch
This is a working draft, not a lawyer-reviewed final policy. It describes the product accurately as of the date above, but should get a proper data-protection review before anyone relies on it in a dispute.
Bitewise is practice-management software for dietitians and nutrition professionals: client records, meal planning, scheduling, and related documents. It is provided by [Bitewise's operating entity — legal name, form, country and registered address to confirm before launch] ("Bitewise", "we", "us").
These terms apply to every person who creates an account, and to every practice created within it. They do not apply to your clients, who never hold an account of their own — see Section 4.
You must be a nutrition or healthcare professional, or acting under one's direct supervision, to use Bitewise for client work. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details and for keeping your credentials confidential.
If you set up a practice, you can invite colleagues to it. As the practice owner you are responsible for who you invite and for their use of the practice's data within Bitewise.
Bitewise computes nutritional values, drafts meal plans, and — where you enable it — proposes AI-drafted notes and suggestions. Every computed value and every AI draft is a starting point, not a recommendation: it sits behind a review step and only reaches a client's record once you approve it.
Bitewise is a tool, not a clinician. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or substitute for your professional judgment, applicable clinical guidelines, or your regulatory obligations as a practitioner. You remain responsible for every plan, note, and communication you approve.
When you add a client to your practice, you are the controller of that client's data under data-protection law, and Bitewise is your processor: we handle it only as this agreement and our Privacy Policy describe, and only on your instructions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold your clients' information and, where your local law requires it, for your clients' own consent.
You can export or permanently delete a client's record at any time from within the product.
New practices get a 14-day free trial with no card required. After the trial, continued use requires an active subscription at the price shown at checkout. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future billing but does not retroactively refund the current period unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Use Bitewise only for lawful nutrition-practice purposes. Do not attempt to access another practice's data, disrupt the service, or use it to store information you are not entitled to hold. We may suspend an account that puts other practices' data at risk.
You own the client records, notes, and plans you create. We own Bitewise itself — the software, design, and the underlying food-composition and computation engine. Using the product does not transfer any of our intellectual property to you, and your data does not become ours.
We aim to keep Bitewise available and back it up regularly, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features marked as a preview or early access may change or be withdrawn with notice inside the product.
You can close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account for a material breach of these terms, including the acceptable-use section above. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first.
Bitewise is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the product, including clinical decisions made using it — see Section 3. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for our own gross negligence.
These terms are governed by the law of [Bitewise's operating entity — legal name, form, country and registered address to confirm before launch], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where local mandatory consumer or data-protection law gives you additional rights.
We may update these terms as the product changes. For a material change, we will tell you inside the product or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Bitewise after a change takes effect means you accept it.
